The Wally Story
Wally and the Paupacks grew out of a non present live music scene surrounding Lake Wallenpaupack in northeastern Pennsylvania. The band formed as a group of local musicians: Noodles on guitars, harmonica and vocals, Jeremy P. on guitars, keyboards and vocals, Tom West on drums & Rob Xtd on bass and vocals (all originally from New York), found each other in a most upexpected way. Rehearsals soon began, gigs soon were booked, songs were soon to be written.
No other band in the area was doing this and the 4 guys from NY brought a new and interesting approach to live performance.
They shared that love for writing original material , roots music, and "Wallying" classic rock tunes. Their name pays tribute to the Paupack region (thanks again Patty for the idea!), where the band built its reputation playing packed summer venues and local events. In its heyday at Ehrardt's (Now Silver Birtches/Dock), Wally and the Paupacks were regulars, packing in crowds each performance. All the future "Wally" fests were even inspired by the band's name!
After the passing of their beloved drum Tom 'Fred Garvin' West, Noodles & Jeremy wanted to keep the Wally memories alive. The Wally and the Paupacks Duo bring a stripped-down acoustic version of the beloved regional band sound.
Featuring tight harmonies, strong musicianship, and a song list spanning classic rock, Americana, and of course those Wally originals, the duo delivers an energetic show perfectly suited for wineries, pubs, festivals, and private events.
